- Alphabet’s legal, global affairs chief received $14.7 million
- Netflix’s longtime law department leader got $10.2 million
J. Kent Walker Jr., president of global affairs and chief legal officer at Google parent company Alphabet, was among the company’s top paid executives in 2021. Alphabet disclosed the pay information in a proxy statement filed late Friday.
The company faces increasing antitrust scrutiny from the Justice Department. A group of state attorneys general has also been accused Alphabet of monopolizing the digital advertising market.
Walker earned $650,000 in base salary from Alphabet and about $14 million in stock awards last year. Those sums are down from the nearly $51 million pay package that Walker received in 2020, the first year he appeared on the Mountain View, Calif.-based internet search giant’s summary compensation table.
He’s since received a pay raise: Alphabet earlier this year boosted Walker’s base salary to $1 million and awarded him performance and restricted stock units valued at $23 million.

Netflix disclosed Hyman’s compensation in a proxy statement filed Friday.
