Advisory Body Finds Global Sustainability Rules Fit for UK Use

The UK will move toward using global sustainability reporting standards geared toward helping investors understand the threats that companies face from climate change, the country’s accounting watchdog said Wednesday.

More than 30 emerging markets also announced Wednesday that they are joining together to work toward using the International Sustainability Standards Board’s disclosure framework.

The UK’s Financial Reporting Council published the final recommendations of the independent UK Sustainability Disclosure Technical Advisory Committee, saying the UK should endorse the first two ISSB standards covering climate and general sustainability reporting, with minor changes.
