Activists Burn Rheinmetall CEO’s Garden House Over Ukraine Sales

Activists claimed responsibility for setting fire to Rheinmetall AG Chief Executive Officer Armin Papperger’s garden house earlier this week, saying they were protesting the German defense company’s sale of arms to Ukraine.

In an letter published the morning of April 29 on the leftist network Indymedia, unidentified perpetrators claimed responsibility for the fire at Papperger’s Lower Saxony property the previous night. They criticized Germany’s increased military spending, portrayed the CEO as a profiteer of the war in Ukraine, and said the attack showed that “his place of retreat is no longer safe.”
