Red Roof Sues Liberty Mutual Over Human Trafficking Litigation

Red Roof hotel companies sued a Liberty Mutual unit, alleging the insurer breached its contract and acted in bad faith by refusing to defend them in 17 human trafficking lawsuits.

Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co. stopped providing legal defense in cases where victims alleged the hotel chain failed to prevent sex trafficking at its properties, Red Roof Inns Inc. and related companies said in a lawsuit filed May 15 in the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
