Environmental groups failed to stop construction of Ioneer Ltd’s Ryholite Ridge Lithium-Boron Mine Project in Nevada after a federal judge ruled the US Department of Interior sufficiently considered how open pit excavation of the critical mineral could impact an endangered local flower species.
The US District Court for the District of Nevada upheld the National Environmental Policy Act and Endangered Species Act reviews conducted for the Ryholite Ridge Mine under the Biden Administration, ruling Interior agencies “rationally determined” the project is unlikely to jeopardize the protected Tiehm’s buckwheat wildflower.
