GoDaddy Erases Willfulness as $170 Million Patent Verdict Stands

A GoDaddy Inc. unit wiped out a Delaware federal jury’s finding that its infringement of two patents related to website-building technology was deliberate or reckless but failed to overturn a $170 million verdict against it.

Judge Matthew F. Kennelly of the US District Court for the District of Delaware partly granted GoDaddy.com LLC’s renewed motion for judgment as a matter of law Thursday and denied its request for a new trial.
