Ex-FirstEnergy Executives’ Ohio Trial Ends With Hung Jury (2)

A jury tasked with deciding the fate of two FirstEnergy Corp. executives, including its former CEO, emerged deadlocked on Tuesday.

The end of the trial in an Akron, Ohio courtroom for ex-CEO Charles Jones and former Vice President of External Affairs Michael Dowling leaves both sides with a mixed bag. While neither side emerged victorious, the office of Attorney General Dave Yost (R) now has the opportunity to re-try the ex-executives.

And Yost said he’ll take that opportunity.

“Justice needs to be done,” he said in a video statement following the verdict.
