Wide-Ranging Water Bill Returns to House Next Week

The House is on track to take another stab at passing a significant water resources bill as early as next week, multiple sources told Bloomberg Environment and Bloomberg Government.

House action on the bill would increase the likelihood that the legislation will clear Congress before this fall’s midterm elections.

The House earlier this year passed a water bill (H.R. 8) by a wide bipartisan margin. However, the Senate drafted a much different bill (S. 2800), and the two chambers have appeared to be deadlocked.
