The White House wants federal agencies to listen more closely to communities that have historically been shut out of the regulatory process as they shape their new rules.
The effort is likely to be most helpful to groups such as environmental justice organizations and residents of energy communities, who don’t frequently visit the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, but are now being actively encouraged to do so under a recent executive order.
