White House Reaches Out to Private Sector for Permitting Help

The Trump administration on Wednesday unveiled a plan to work with private sector software companies to speed up environmental permitting.

Under the program, known as Permitting Innovators, the White House Council on Environmental Quality will soon invite industry to share technology that can modernize federal reviews and permitting.

CEQ will evaluate the submissions and invite applicants to participate in a Permitting Innovators Expo this summer, where agency staff and permitting stakeholders will get a chance to see the solutions in action. The submission requirements and evaluation criteria will be announced soon, CEQ said.
