Biden Starts With Federal Buildings to Combat Climate Emissions

The White House is developing a plan—reminiscent of its approach to electric vehicles—to make its own massive stock of buildings more energy-efficient, hoping to set an example for states and cities to follow.

The first-ever federal building performance standards will establish metrics, targets, and tracking methods to reach federal carbon emissions goals, Mark Chambers, senior director for building emissions at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, told Bloomberg Law.
