The US government is phasing out the sale and distribution of single-use plastic such as water bottles on federal lands, including national parks and wildlife refuges, the White House announced Wednesday.
Interior Secretary Deb Haaland will issue a secretarial order saying the department would cut back on the procurement of single-use plastic on public lands, with the goal of eliminating their use by 2032.
