White House Announces Heads of EPA’s California, Texas Regions

The White House will appoint three new administrators for the Environmental Protection Agency’s pivotal West Coast, southwest, and Midwest regions, according to a Thursday statement.

Martha Guzman, a commissioner at the California Public Utilities Commission since 2016, will take the helm of Region 9, one of the EPA’s most prominent divisions. Her work at that office has included fiscal oversight of utilities, broadband access, water affordability, and increased access to clean energy programs for disadvantaged communities.
