Wheeler Wants Ozone Standards Review Done This Year

EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler is adamant about finishing a review of current federal ozone standards by year’s end.

  • In a recently posted letter, Wheeler told the agency’s seven clean air advisers to set aside any unresolved substantial questions on the scientific evidence surrounding the current ozone standards of 70 parts per billion if they would hinder the time frame. Wheeler set an end-of-2020 deadline in the past, and the recent coronavirus pandemic hasn’t affected his views.
