Clean Air Act to Start EPA Transparency Effort, Wheeler Says (1)

The EPA will complete a separate science transparency rulemaking for each of its major statutes by the end of 2023, starting with the Clean Air Act, Administrator Andrew Wheeler said Wednesday.

The rule, proposed in 2018, would bar the agency from using scientific research that isn’t or can’t be made public.

Wheeler said the Environmental Protection Agency expects to finalize the overarching rulemaking before the end of this year, after which it will embark on individual science transparency regulations for major agency statutes.
