The state of Florida is arguing that the Supreme Court’s May wetlands ruling helps to undermine environmental groups’ standing to challenge a Trump-era EPA decision to give the state control over a federal wetlands dredge-and-fill permitting program.

The Supreme Court’s ruling in Sackett v. EPA vastly cuts the scope of federal jurisdiction over waters and wetlands in Florida, slashing the number of construction projects that will be subject to federal environmental reviews, Florida argued Friday in a court filing in Center for Biological Diversity v. EPA.
