Supporters of a federal Delaware River Basin water quality restoration program set to expire this week say its reauthorization is essential after the Supreme Court in May restricted federal waters and wetlands protections.
There is bipartisan support for reauthorization of the Delaware River Basin Restoration Program, which was established by Congress in 2016. The program provides federal grants to fund local conservation and water quality improvement and flood control projects within the basin in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
