Western Energy Corridor Changes Proposed to Speed Renewables

The Biden administration aims to amend 19 resource management plans across seven Western states to lower barriers for electric transmission lines and renewable energy development on public land.

The Bureau of Land Management is weighing updates to the plans to “remove barriers or conflicts” for energy corridors intended to designate the preferred locations for energy transportation projects on public lands, the agency stated in a prepublication notice on the Federal Register on Thursday.
