West Virginia Residents Sue to Block Industrial Power Plant

West Virginia residents sued TransGas Development Systems and three federal agencies, alleging the company plans to build a massive industrial power plant without required federal environmental permits.

Danny Hatfield and nine other plaintiffs said TransGas plans to construct the Adams Fork Energy project featuring 117 natural gas and diesel engines in Mingo County, W. Va., without obtaining mandatory permits, review, or approval under federal environmental laws, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
