Watchdog Finds Gaps in Data for $1.5 Billion in Nuclear Repairs

A government watchdog recommended that a Department of Energy office improve the accuracy of the data used to estimate $1.5 billion in nuclear waste facility repairs.

The Government Accountability Office found that sites under DOE’s Office of Environmental Management “did not consistently follow” an agency order related to data accuracy, validation and comparability, according to a report the government watchdog issued Tuesday.
