The US Forest Service unlawfully authorized a large-scale logging project in an area of Washington designated as critical for the recovery of Canada Lynx, a conservation group alleged in federal lawsuit.
The agency failed to adequately consider what effects the so-called Bulldog project—which allows mechanical commercial logging, prescribed burning, and road work on nearly 44,000 acres of land in the Colville National Forest’s Kettle Range—would have on the lynx, the Kettle Range Conservation Group said.
