Washington Court Orders Restoration of Climate Resilience Funds

A federal court reopened more than $9 million in climate resilience funding the Trump administration tried to stop flowing to Washington state.

The temporary injunction is a setback for the White House, which has been trying to claw back federal grants it deems as ideologically motivated.

Washington was able to show it would suffer irreparable harm if the two awards meant to support underprivileged communities were canceled, ruled Judge Marsha J. Pechman of the US District Court for the Western District of Washington.
