The Washington state attorney general on Friday said the Energy Department should cancel a Trump-era notice that could lead to radioactive pollution exposures from the former Hanford nuclear site.
The attorney general, Bob Ferguson (D), along with the state Department of Ecology and a coalition of Native American and environmental groups, are targeting a 2019 notice that reclassified the threat level of certain types radioactive waste.
