ViacomCBS, Solo Cup Operating Corp., and Vornado Realty Trust can skip a lawsuit that sought contribution to the costs of cleaning up hazardous substances at a Baltimore Superfund site, a Maryland federal court ruled.
The 68th Street Site Work Group told the US District Court for the District of Maryland that the companies were liable for their transportation or arrangement to transport materials containing hazardous substances for disposal at the site. The waste contained copper, mercury, and other substances, according to the complaint.
