Valero Must Face Revived Claims Over Cattle Ranch Pipeline Leak

An Oklahoma cattle ranch can proceed to trial on three of its claims that a Valero Energy Corp. pipeline leaked gasoline and diesel fuel, contaminating the ranch’s soil, water, and air, the Tenth Circuit ruled Tuesday.

There is enough evidence for a reasonable jury to potentially find Valero Terminaling & Distribution Co. and its affiliates responsible for the contamination, a divided three-judge panel on the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit said, partially reversing a lower court’s decision in favor of Valero.
