Utah Court Reaffirms $20.7 Million Judgment Against City of Tooele After Failed Water Deal

A Utah judge has reaffirmed a $20.7 million judgment against the city of Tooele, Utah, for breaching an agreement to provide drinking water to a mixed-used development in exchange for the developer providing land to the city (Tooele Associates Ltd. Partnership v. Tooele City).

Judge Randall Skanchy of the 3^rd District Court denied several motions filed by the city, including a motion for judgment notwithstanding a verdict, Bruce R. Baird of Salt Lake City, attorney for the developer, Tooele Associates, told BNA Oct. 14.
