USDA Wildlife Service Sued Over Texas Predator Killing Programs

The US Department of Agriculture violated environmental laws by failing to update its environmental analyses of programs for predator killing programs targeting mountain lions and other predators in parts of Texas, the Center for Biological Diversity said in a new complaint filed Tuesday.

The lawsuit, filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas, claims the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspections Service Wildlife Services hasn’t supplemented outdated environmental reviews from 2014 and 2016 that authorize killing mountain lions, coyotes, and other wildlife across 46 counties in the state.
