US Wind Warns Judge of Bankruptcy if Project Approval is Revoked

A Maryland offshore wind project developer is urging a federal court to prevent the Interior Department from revoking its previously approved permits until its lawsuit is resolved, saying the loss could force it into bankruptcy.

The government’s move to remand and vacate the approvals violates “US Wind’s vested rights under its federal lease to construct the project,” the company argued in its motion for preliminary injunction filed at the US District Court for the District of Maryland Wednesday.
