The US will host China’s Special Envoy for Climate Change Liu Zhenmin in Washington on May 8-9, according to a State Department statement.
- Meeting will focus on areas identified in the Sunnylands Statement, including energy transition and methane
- Working group is co-led by US Senior Advisor to the President for International Climate Policy John Podesta and Liu
- Liu will be in the US May 7-16, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment says in a WeChat post
