Twenty-five governors announced Thursday a series of new environmental policy commitments to slash carbon emissions from buildings, including a push to quadruple the number of heat pump installations nationally.
Members of the bipartisan coalition US Climate Alliance touted new plans at Climate Week NYC to install 20 million heat pumps in their states by 2030. Forty percent of the benefits are expected to flow to underserved communities, according to a statement from the organization.
