The Energy Department is announcing a conditional commitment for a $398.6 million loan guarantee to a battery manufacturer near Pittsburgh, an investment to expand large-scale energy storage for the US power grid and industrial facilities.
If finalized, the Loan Programs Office’s commitment to Eos Energy Enterprises Inc. will back the construction of up to four production lines to produce zinc-bromine battery energy storage systems in Turtle Creek, Pa., the department said in a press release shared in advance with Bloomberg Law.
