US Approves Orsted’s Offshore Wind Project Near Rhode Island

The Interior Department on Tuesday authorized Orsted A/S and Eversource Energy’s 704-megawatt Revolution Wind project off the Rhode Island coast, marking the fourth utility-scale offshore wind farm to win US approval.

• The authorization “underscores the administration’s commitment to promoting domestic energy production and fighting climate change while promoting economic growth and fostering environmental stewardship within coastal communities,” said Bureau of Ocean Energy Management Director Elizabeth Klein
