US Agency Proposes Standards for Network of EV Charging Stations

The US Department of Transportation is proposing standards for a national network of electric-vehicle charging stations, part of the White House plan to get construction of 500,000 such sites underway by 2030.

These minimum standards will help ensure the network is user-friendly, reliable and accessible to all Americans, according to a statement Thursday from the department. The government aims to insure it’s interoperable between charging companies, with similar payment systems, pricing information and charging speeds.
