Univar Solutions USA Inc. will spend $800,000 to settle alleged violations of industrial accident-prevention requirements at five facilities in Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Colorado, according to the EPA Thursday.
The settlement addresses violations to the Clean Air Act and the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act. Most of the allegations are related to a failure to comply with industry standards for regulated and hazardous chemicals like anhydrous ammonia and formaldehyde, the Environmental Protection Agency said.
