Unions Drop Lawsuit Over Solvent Rule to Focus on EPA’s Revision

The United Steelworkers and AFL-CIO have dropped their lawsuit challenging the EPA’s 2024 trichloroethylene rule to focus on a proposed revision of that rule, which the agency has said it will craft.

The unions’ requested dismissal, which the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit granted Wednesday, is the latest development on three Biden-era chemical rules being challenged in courts as the Trump administration’s Environmental Protection Agency works on revising them.
