UN Aviation Body Agrees on Plans to Cut Greenhouse Gases

A United Nations organization agreed Oct. 4 to work toward a goal for cutting climate-warming gases from aviation and reduce the industry’s contribution to climate change.

The International Civil Aviation Organization’s plenary of 181 nations was meeting in Montreal to set its agenda for the next three years. The body sets standards for the global aviation industry, and it was under pressure during its two-week meeting to improve its plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
