The UK removed glass and ceramic products from the scope of its proposed carbon border tax following feedback from hundreds of companies and industry groups.
The proposed carbon border adjustment mechanism, or CBAM, will apply only to the aluminum, cement, fertilizer, hydrogen, and iron and steel sectors when it takes effect in January 2027, His Majesty’s Treasury and His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs said in a report Wednesday summarizing industry comments.
