UK Climate Watchdog Urges Acceleration of Emissions Cuts By 2035

The British government should accelerate efforts to eliminate planet-warming gases and commit to an 81% reduction in carbon emissions by 2035, the nation’s climate change watchdog said.

The recommendation sent to Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero Ed Milibandis meant to spur the UK to raise its target before next month’s COP29 climate talks in Azerbaijan.
