U.S. Steel Settles Pennsylvania Air Violations for $1.5 Million

U.S. Steel Corp. will pay a $1.5 million penalty and make improvements at its steel production facility in Braddock, Pa., to resolve air pollution violations, according to the Environmental Protection Agency Tuesday.

Under the consent decree, U.S. Steel is required to conduct studies to improve its pollution control systems, and required to improve training, monitoring, and work practices, according to the agency.
