U.S. Solar Jobs Slipped Last Year Amid Pandemic Slowdowns: Chart

The U.S. solar-industry workforce fell 6.7% last year to 231,474, the lowest level since 2015 as the pandemic halted work and curbed demand for panels early on, according to a report by groups including the Solar Energy Industries Association. Still, a record amount of solar capacity was deployed in the country in 2020, driven by a jump in utility-scale installations that require fewer workers.
