U.S. Solar Industry Has a Six-Point Wish List For Joe Biden

A U.S. solar trade group is calling on President-elect Joe Biden to eliminate tariffs on imported equipment and propose legislation that would extend a key federal tax credit for the industry.

Solar Energy Industries Association Chief Executive Officer Abigail Ross Hopper said she’d also like Biden to:

• Establish a climate czar who will prioritize equity and justice
• Appoint commissioners to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission who understand America’s changing energy landscape and value competition
• Ensure that the U.S. Interior Department is committed to responsible development of renewable energy on public lands
• Invest in domestic manufacturing
