U.K. Offshore Wind Farms Weigh Force Majeure as Virus Spreads

Developers of wind farms off the coast of the U.K. have notified the government that they may declare force majeure to halt contracts as the lockdowns associated with the coronavirus wreak havoc on their global supply chain and keep workers away from job sites.

Iberdrola SA’s Scottish Power Renewables unit and German utility Innogy SE have contacted the government’s Low Carbon Contracts Co. about the potential disruption, according to people familiar with the matter.
