TVA’s Environmental Review of Gas-Fired Plant Upheld by Court

The Tennessee Valley Authority satisfied all the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act when analyzing the environmental effects of building a gas-fired power plant in Tennessee, a federal judge ruled.

The Sierra Club failed to show that TVA’s analysis of the indirect effects, including methane emissions, of the project was arbitrary or capricious, Judge William L. Campbell Jr. of the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee said Monday.
