Trump’s Pick for EPA’s Top Lawyer Approved by Senate Committee (1)

A Senate committee advanced the White House’s pick for the EPA’s top lawyer on Wednesday, readying him for a full floor vote.

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee approved Sean Donahue on a party line vote to lead the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of General Counsel.

If confirmed, Donahue would quickly become entangled in several legal disputes that are already underway.

The Trump administration is working to unwind at least a dozen emissions rules, reconsider its 2007 endangerment finding, claw back federal grants issued under the Biden administration, and shrink its workforce.
