The Bureau of Land Management will renew 36 lead-mining leases for five Missouri mines operated by Doe Run Resources Corp., the Interior Department announced Thursday.
The renewals apply to five active lead mines spanning more than 35,000 acres of the Mark Twain National Forest west of St. Louis. The leases will allow Doe Run to continue mining for 10 years. The leases were last renewed in 2015.
