The US Department of Energy asked the US Supreme Court to scrap a lower court’s decision to uphold a Biden-era block on the sale of non-condensing natural gas furnaces and commercial water heaters.
In a brief filed Tuesday, the agency urged justices to grant gas associations’s petition to vacate an opinion which held the energy-efficiency standards meant to reduce gas emissions didn’t violate the Energy Policy and Conservation Act.
