Exports of oil from the US emergency reserves soared to an all-time high as the world grapples with the worst supply disruption on record because of the Iran war.

Nearly 22 million barrels of crude oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve has reached overseas markets so far this year, according to customs data compiled by Kpler Ltd. The volume has surpassed a previous high reached four years ago, when millions of barrels were released in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
