The Trump administration’s dismissal of the authors of the National Climate Assessment poses risks for large sectors of the economy that depend on the report to guide everything from crop planning to insurance rate-setting, climate scientists say.
“It’s not just about the causes of climate change,” said Howard Crystal, senior attorney at the Center for Biological Diversity. “It provides critical local information about what is in store for communities down the road.”
