Trump Uses Biden’s Playbook to Roll Back Alaska Protections

President Donald Trump’s executive order “unleashing” Alaska’s oil, natural gas, timber, and minerals potential follows the playbook the Biden administration used to roll back Trump’s moves to open Alaska federal lands to developers.

But the Jan. 20 order has little immediate effect and will take years to implement. And environmentalists say parts of the order are illegal and pledge to block drilling, mining, and logging in court.
