Trump Urged by Lawmaker to Act on China’s Minerals Policy

“China continues to choke exports of rare earths and magnets to the United States and its allies,” Rep. John Moolenaar, chair of the House China panel, says in a letter to President Trump.

  • The US should respond by using coalitions such as G-7, Quad and NATO, Moolenaar says
  • Reciprocal actions could include restricting Chinese airline landings or tightening export controls, the Republican lawmaker says
